PENG Xiaolong

MENG Tao

Professor MENG Tao is an Assistant Professor at Renmin University Law School. He received his PhD from Renmin University Law School and is a post-doctoral fellow of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

Research interests: jurisprudence, sociology of law, dispute resolution, emergency law



LI Fenfei

Professor LI Fenfei is an Associate Professor and PhD supervisor at Renmin University Law School. He was a visiting professor at NYU Law School from 2012-2013, and a member of the Henan Provincial Higher People’s Court expert advisory committee. Professor Li is the Deputy Director of the Renmin University Litigation System and Judicial Reform Research Centre, the Deputy Director of Renmin University Legal Profession Research Centre, a researcher at both the Renmin University Criminal Law Research Centre and the Renmin University Dispute Resolution Research Centre.

Research interests: criminal procedural law, judicial systems, counsel systems



CHENG Lei

Professor CHENG Lei is an Associate Professor at Renmin University Law School and a post-doctoral fellow of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He is the Deputy Secretary-General of the China Criminal Litigation Law Research Association and Deputy Director of the Renmin University Litigation System and Judicial Reform Research Centre.

Research interests: criminal procedural law


XIE Wangyuan

Professor XIE Wangyuan is a Professor of Criminal Law and a PhD supervisor at Renmin University Law School. He is the Deputy Director of the Research Centre for Criminal Jurisprudence at Renmin University of China - a national key research institute under the Ministry of Education - and the Director of the Criminal Policy and Comparative Criminal Law Research Institute. He is a member of the advisory council for the Leading Group for Anti-Commercial Bribery of the Chinese central government, as well as an member of the expert committee case guidance at the Supreme People’s Court. Xie Wangyuan holds Council Member positions at both the Criminal Law Research Association and the Criminal Trial Sector of the Trial Theory Research Association, both under the China Law Society. From 2012-2013, he was Deputy-Chief Procurator of Beijing Xicheng Procuratorate.

Research interests: Chinese criminal law, comparative criminal law, criminal policy


SHI Yan’an

Professor SHI Yan’an is the Vice-Dean and Professor of Criminal Law at Renmin University Law School. He is the Secretary-General of the Centre for Common Law and a distinguished researcher at the Criminal Law Research Centre, both of Renmin University. Professor Shi is the Director of Inter-regional Criminal Law Institute; a member of the China branch of the International Criminal Law Association; and is a Legal Consultant to Renmin University of China. From 2006-2007, he was a Hauser Global scholar at NYU School of Law researching criminal law and in 2011 he took a visiting professorship at the University of Oxford Centre for Criminology. He is Deputy Secretary-General of Criminal Law Institute of Beijing Law Society and a consultant to the China News Agency.

Research interests: criminal law, criminal policy, British and American criminal law
