The Centre for Common Law was founded in September 2014 by Renmin University of China together with the Great Britain China Centre and the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford.
The Centre for Common Law is a research centre located within Renmin University Law School. It is jointly managed by the University and the Great Britain China Centre, with the support of the University of Oxford. The Centre works to assist common law research efforts, to promote an understanding of common law values and principles in China, and to provide support to legal practitioners in both China and the UK. We do this through research projects, seminars, training sessions, conferences and other people-to-people exchanges.
